No rules.

That’s the only rule we’ve set for our open mic conversation with Republican Charles Djou and Democrat Colleen Hanabusa on Friday.

The two have agreed to join and me on his KHVH 830AM radio show from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday. You can also tune in on the Web. We’ll be live-streaming from the Road Runner Music Hall.

This is going to be a conversation. Not a debate. Think of it as getting the chance to sit around the dinner table or have a cup of coffee with the candidates, a time where they can ask questions as well as answer them.

I’ve been gathering ideas for what I’d like to talk about, but would love to hear from you. Please let me know what you’d like us to discuss by posting a comment below. I’ll do my best to include as many of your suggestions as possible.

If you鈥檙e interested in viewing the open mic live, please e-mail events@civilbeat.com with your name, e-mail address and a short message letting us know you鈥檇 like to attend. Tickets are limited. We鈥檒l distribute them to members on a first come first serve basis.
