The statewide contest pits Lindsey, an Office of Hawaiian Affairs employee, against Mangauil, a longtime critic of the agency.

“We need to build diversified, renewable  programs for sustainability in Hawaii.”

Now, Martin Kao faces federal charges of bank fraud and money laundering for allegedly bilking the coronavirus relief program of $12.8 million.

“We can release the fears and prejudices that stifled us in the past and create a better future for ourselves and our keiki.”

This isn’t the first time the Hawaii congresswoman has urged the federal government to dismiss its case against the whistleblower.

Candidates submitted their final campaign spending reports before residents start voting by mail throughout October. Two more reports are due before Nov. 3.
