This will be our last public engagement event on Maui for 2023.
Civil Beat reporters and business team members will be working out of the Makawao Public Library Tuesday, Dec. 5 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at our next pop-up newsroom event.
This is where we invite the public to sit down and talk story with us, and help inform our reporting.
As Maui residents look ahead to the new year, they’ll be wanting indications that the recovery and rebuilding efforts in West Maui are progressing and that the needs of thousands of displaced residents are being met.
Please spread the word to friends who may not yet be readers of Civil Beat.
On Tuesday, Dec. 12 the team will be on Windward Oahu at Waimanalo Public Library for our last pop-up newsroom of 2023.
But we’ll back on Maui for our first pop-up newsroom of 2024 on Monday, Jan. 8 at the historic Wailuku Public Library, and we will send out a reminder closer to the date.
This project is supported by the Hawaii Community Foundation and the League of Women Voters of Honolulu Education Fund.
