Want To Run For Office? Filings Begin March 1
The Hawaii Office of Elections’ candidate deadline is June 7.
The 2022 election cycle begins next week with the opening of candidate filing on March 1. It runs through June 7.

Candidates must complete and file a nomination paper to appear on the ballot.
And signatures from a minimum number of voters in the district in which one is seeking office is also required.

Hawaii votes by mail, so voters should expect to receive ballots 18 days before each election.
The 2022 primary election is Aug. 13 and the general election is Nov. 8.
