State Ethics Commission Looking For New Executive Director
Applications are due Oct. 6.
The state Ethics Commission is looking for a after Dan Gluck, the current head of the agency, announced his resignation.
Gluck resigned during a closed-door session of the Ethics Commission’s . The commission’s office said Gluck will stay in the position until a new director is hired and assist during the transition period.
The commission is seeking applicants with a law degree from an accredited law school. Applicants must also be licensed to practice law in Hawaii and be in good standing with the state bar association.
The commission prefers applicants that have 10 years of experience in the legal field as well as experience in administrative law, contested case hearings and government ethics.

Gluck was appointed director of the Ethics Commission in 2016 after the Legislature selected the previous director, Les Kondo, to be the state auditor.
Earlier this year, Gluck was nominated to a vacancy on the Intermediate Court of Appeals. But his nomination was rejected by the state Senate after numerous complaints that the court lacked diversity and women.
Gluck withdrew his name and Ige ultimately appointed a Native Hawaiian woman who was confirmed.
