Military police found the body of a soldier’s wife Wednesday morning in on-post housing at Schofield Barracks in Honolulu, the Army said.

The body was found during a welfare check requested by a concerned family member, according to a press release. It didn’t give the cause of death, saying an investigation led by the Army Criminal Investigation Command was underway.

The Army said investigators currently聽“believe this is an isolated death and there is no cause for public alarm.”

The woman was not immediately identified pending the notification of family members.

“No further details are available at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation,” the Army said.

In general, the military as troops cope with the combined pressure of both the social isolation of stay home orders and continued training and deployments around the globe.

Reports of military domestic violence have declined, but聽some that stay-at-home orders may have made it more difficult for people to seek help and report incidents.
