We will be at the Pahoa Public Library on Thursday.
Our journalistic road trip continues this week with a stop at the Pahoa Public and School Library on the Big island.
Reporters, editor and even a couple of our columnists are planning to be there to meet with residents. We’re looking forward to hearing about the issues that you think are important. And we’re always happy to tell you pretty much anything you want to know about Civil Beat and how we do our jobs.
Since October, we’ve been holding these pop-ups in partnership with the Hawaii Public Library System. The concept is simple — our staff just works out of the library for the day and spends time talking to whoever shows up. It’s very informal, just stop in any time during library hours and grab an empty chair.
On Thursday, we will be at the library, 15-3070 Pahoa Kalapana Road, during normal library hours — 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Check out our Pop-Up Newsroom landing page to see videos of what people in the communities we’ve visited have to say about their hometown.
