The Hawaii branch of the is offering an online art and music therapy workshop, as well as a new series of virtual support groups for people battling mental illness and their caregivers.

Both offerings are free of charge.

Titled “Creatively Coping Through Crisis: Using Music & Art Therapy,” the online art therapy workshop will explore how art and music can lower anxiety and depression. It will also delve into stress management techniques using guided meditation, mandalas, doodling and singing.

Led by music therapist Mayu Langford and art therapist Kate Madigan, the workshop will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 24. Participants must by April 23.

is also offering a new series of online support groups.

Recovery groups are for people living with stress, anxiety or other mental health conditions. Family support groups are for caregivers who have a loved one with mental illness. There are also support groups for people who share in the Christian faith.
