More Than 31,000 Have Voted In City Council Race
The special election between Trevor Ozawa and Tommy Waters for the East Honolulu seat ends Saturday.
More than 31,000 people have cast ballots in Honolulu’s ongoing special election for City Council District 4.
The county election office received 30,796 mail-in ballots and 355 in-person ballots as of Wednesday evening. The race is between former City Councilman Trevor Ozawa and Tommy Waters for the district spanning Hawaii Kai to Kewalo Basin.
About 63,000 voters in the district received mail-in ballots and Honolulu Hale is the only walk-in polling place. It is open Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Voting ends Saturday, and final results are expected about 10 p.m. that night.
