Marijuana To Be Decriminalized In Hawaii Come Jan. 11
The new law will make possession of 3 grams or less of pot punishable by a $130 fine.

That means that, starting Jan. 11, marijuana will be decriminalized in the state.
Specifically, the legislation allows for possession of 3 grams or less of pot for adults.
It also provides for the expungement of criminal records “pertaining solely” to possession of 3 grams or less of pot.
And, the bill sets up an evaluation task force to make recommendations on changing marijuana use penalties and outcomes.
, Hawaii will become the 26th state in the nation to legalize or decriminalize pakalolo, as cannabis is known in the islands.
“It is the smallest amount of any state to decriminalize, or legalize, possession marijuana,” the Marijuana Policy Project said in a statement.
