Ibarra Named CEO Of Domestic Violence Action Center
She succeeds Nanci Kreidman, the Hawaii center’s founder and longtime leader.
Monique Ibarra is the new chief executive officer of the, a Hawaii nonprofit that works to improve the lives of island families, children and marginalized communities .
She holds a master’s in social work from the University of Hawaii Manoa and has served as executive director of Maui鈥檚 Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers for the past seven years.
Ibarra, who starts in September, replaces Nanci Kreidman, the center’s co-founder and current CEO, who plans to retire Friday following 33 years at the helm of the organization.
鈥淚t is a privilege to assume leadership following Nanci鈥檚 (Kreidman) exceptional legacy and continue the work towards growth, protecting Hawaii residents and creating new opportunities for addressing domestic violence,鈥 Ibarra said in a press release Thursday.
Vera Wright, DVAC board president, will act as interim CEO.
