HPD Swears In New Deputy Chief
Deputy Chief Jonathon Grems retired in December. Clyde Ho took over.
The Honolulu Police Department swore in a new deputy chief Thursday morning.
Clyde Ho replaces Jonathon Grems, who retired in December. Ho was an assistant chief who was formerly in charge of the administrative bureau, said Sarah Yoro, an HPD spokeswoman.
Ho had already retired from the department, but Ballard asked him to return to the department to become a deputy chief, Yoro said.
His LinkedIn profile says he was also the commander of the internal affairs office for more than six years.
Ho has about 30 years of service with HPD, she said.
