Hawaii’s State IT System Unaffected By Microsoft Outage
Hospitals, banks, telecommunications and other public services have reported no significant impact.
Hawaii’s lieutenant governor, Sylvia Luke, said Friday morning that so far the state’s information technology system has not been affected by the global CrowdStrike and Microsoft .
Currently, hospitals and health care systems have reported minimal impact, according to a press release from Luke, the acting governor while Gov. Josh Green is out of town.
“Residents with scheduled appointments should check with their medical providers before proceeding,” she advised.
On Thursday evening a number of air carriers servicing the islands were affected, issuing systemwide ground stops. As of Friday morning, the airline communication systems were back online.
“Passengers should check with their airline prior to going to the airport and should expect delays,” Luke said.聽
She added, “Our ability to stay connected online is critical and we鈥檒l continue to monitor this developing situation and provide support where needed.”
