Hawaii GOP Has A New Candidate For Governor
Lynn Mariano is a retired veteran who calls himself a uniter.
A self-described underdog candidate said he is running for governor of Hawaii because “it’s time to change the paradigm” from Democratic Party rule.
Lynn “Barry” Mariano, born and raised in Kalihi-Palama, retired from the U.S. Army in 1995 with two Bronze Stars and from the Civil Service in 2015 with the Office of Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civil Service, according to a press release.
After more than 60 years of “democrat governing,” Mariano said, “First and foremost, we need to make Hawaii affordable. We can do this by changing our tax structure to help families keep more of their hard earned money, lower corporate taxes to spur growth and investment, and attract new businesses.”
Mariano, who earned a B.A. in psychology from the Chaminade University and an MBA from Golden Gate University, calls himself a uniter who can bring Republicans, Democrats and independents together.
