Hawaii GOP Elects New Party Chair, Again
Lynn Finnegan is a former state House representative and Lt. Gov. candidate.
On Saturday the Hawaii Republican Party elected a new state chair, Lynn Finnegan.
She is the third party chair this year, following a short stint by Signe Godfrey, who replaced Shirlene Ostrov, who quit in January following a period of party turmoil.
According to a press release Tuesday, Finnegan has over two decades of leadership experience in both the public and private sectors.
“Most notably, she campaigned successfully, as co-founder of Republicans Empowering All Citizens of Hawaii (2000-2010), to win four state House elections while helping to elect Hawaii’s first female and Republican governor,” it states.
Finnegan served as the minority leader before leaving the House to run unsuccessfully for lieutenant governor in 2010.
鈥淚 would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for being elected and entrusted with the state chair position that comes with considerable responsibility,” she said. “Together, I know we can build that voice that stands for Hawaii.”
Finnegan was formerly the GOP’s vice chair of coordinated campaigns.
