Hawaii Ethics Commission Posts Two Vacancies
Interested people should submit an application, resume and letters of recommendation.
The Judicial Council on Monday said it is seeking applicants to fill two upcoming vacancies on the .
The terms will run from July 1 of this year through June 30, 2026.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, residents of Hawaii and may not hold any other public office.
It’s a voluntary gig, but travel expenses are covered for neighbor island commissioners to attend meetings on Oahu.
The Ethics Commission, a key watchdog agency, addresses ethical issues involving legislators, registered lobbyists and state employees — with the exception of judges, who are governed by the Commission on Judicial Conduct.
The five commissioners are responsible for investigating complaints, providing advisory opinions and enforcing decisions issued by the commission, according to a press release from the commission.
The names of nominees are sent to the governor, who selects one of the nominees for appointment.
