Hawaii Charter School Commission Appoints New Executive Director
Ed Noh will join the commission in February.
A complex area superintendent has been named the new executive director of the Hawaii State Public Charter School Commission.
Ed Noh currently oversees the Castle-Kahuku Complex Area and formerly served as director of the Kaohao Public Charter School in Kailua. He will join the commission next month, becoming its first executive director in nearly four years, announcing the decision on Tuesday. The role was formerly filled by interim positions.
The commission oversees the state’s 37 charter schools, which have more than 12,600 students enrolled. The commission is also responsible for approving and renewing schools’ charters, which guide their mission and overall operations.
