Guns Found At Home Where Two Cops Were Killed
They were not registered to any of the residents of the home, police say.
Multiple guns were found at the Hibiscus Drive home where two Honolulu police officers were fatally gunned down Sunday, police say.
However, there are no indications that any of those firearms were registered to the residents of the home, said Michelle Yu, a Honolulu Police Department spokeswoman.
Jerry “Jarda” Hanel, who reportedly lived rent-free in exchange for handyman services at the residence at 3015 Hibiscus Drive, is alleged to have shot HPD officers Tiffany Enriquez and Kaulike Kalama, killed his landlady, Lois Cane, and stabbed another tenant.
The 69-year-old suspect is also believed to have set a fire that destroyed the home and six others in the Diamond Head neighborhood.
On Tuesday, police discovered two sets of human remains that have not yet been identified.
Honolulu Police Chief Susan Ballard previously said Hanel was not a registered firearm owner.
