Gabbard Barely Registers In Latest Round Of Primaries
The presidential candidate from Hawaii even trailed candidates no longer in the race.
Another round of Democratic presidential primaries was held Tuesday, and once again Rep. Tulsi Gabbard finished in the back of the pack.
As of 6 p.m. Tuesday HST with 98% of precincts reporting, Gabbard was expected to finish seventh in Florida with 0.5% of the vote.
Joe Biden won the Sunshine State in a landslide, followed by Bernie Sanders and four candidates no longer in the running: Mike Bloomberg, Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar.
Biden also won big in Illinois, followed by Sanders, Warren and Bloomberg. With 86% of precincts reporting, Gabbard was in fifth place with just 0.6% of the vote of the Prairie State.
And in Arizona, the Grand Canyon State, Biden was again declared the winner. Gabbard was in seventh place with 6% of precincts reporting.
Ohio was scheduled to hold its primary on Tuesday as well, but it was ordered canceled due to concerns about the coronavirus.
There are more than scheduled over the next few months — including Hawaii’s on April 4 — although the coronavirus has forced some states to delay voting.
The final Democratic Party caucus is set for June 6 in Puerto Rico.
The Associated Press Tuesday that President Donald Trump clinched the Republican Party nomination with wins in the Florida and Illinois primaries.
