Former VP Joe Biden Endorses Kai Kahele For Congress
The Hawaii state senator has secured a lot of endorsements since announcing his intention to replace U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard in Congress.
WASHINGTON — Add former Vice President Joe Biden to the list of Democrats who have endorsed Hawaii state Sen. Kai Kahele for U.S. Congress.
Kahele’s campaign announced Biden’s backing Tuesday.
Biden is just one of many politicians who have thrown their support behind Kahele, who is running for Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District, which represents rural Oahu and the neighbor islands.
Former President Barack Obama endorsed Kahele last month. He also has the support of the majority of Hawaii’s federal delegation, including U.S. senators Brian Schatz and Mazie Hirono and Congressman Ed Case.
Kahele announced his bid for Congress shortly after U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard launched her presidential campaign. Gabbard ultimately decided against running for reelection after failing to secure the Democratic nomination for president.
