The Hawaii Office of Elections on Tuesday officially certified Democrat Joe Biden as winner of the local presidential election.
Biden, the former vice president, defeated President Donald Trump, a Republican, 63% to 34%.
Candidates for the Libertarian, Green, Constitution and American Shopping parties finished far behind.
As The Associated Press , the certification was made possible “after the state Supreme Court dismissed an elections complaint challenging the entirety of the Nov. 3 general election in the islands.”
The state Supreme Court has still not decided on a complaint from Keoni Souza, an unsuccessful candidate for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. He is demanding a recount in his narrow loss to Trustee Kelii Akina.
But a spokeswoman for the Elections Office said that race has no impact on certification.
Hawaii鈥檚 four Electoral College votes are expected to go to Biden. The electors are scheduled to formally cast their votes for president on Monday.
As USA Today , every state except Wisconsin has now certified the votes for president, 鈥渆ffectively locking in Biden鈥檚 election win despite Trump’s false claims of victory. Governors are required to communicate聽if they reached聽safe harbor status to the U.S. archivist.鈥
The certification comes as the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday election results that had already been certified and submitted in Pennsylvania.
