Mateo Caballero
Mateo Caballero is the legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Hawaii. He joined the ACLU in 2016 and has been working to defend and advance the civil rights and liberties of everyone in 贬补飞补颈驶颈, but particularly those of prisoners, immigrants, LGBTQ individuals, the homeless, the disabled, and other disadvantaged minorities.
Prior to joining the ACLU, Mr. Caballero was senior litigation counsel at a local law firm and practiced federal tax law in Washington, D.C. He also worked as pro bono counsel with Bread for the City, a D.C.-based food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services provider, representing tenants in eviction and housing conditions cases in landlord-tenant court.
Mr. Caballero earned his degree from Harvard Law School in 2007. 聽He is admitted to practice law in Hawaii, the District of Columbia, and New York.
