JoAnn Yukimura was mayor of Kauai County from 1988 to 1994 and a County Councilmember for 22 years. As a citizen activist and lawyer, she led the effort to stop highrises on Kauai and was one of the founders of KIUC, Kauai’s electric utility cooperative. She can be reached at jyukimura@gmail.com.
