It is vital that Hawaii do what is right so we do not lose even more teachers.

Hawaii keiki deserve better than to be squared off against each other like contestants in “The Hunger Games.”

The constitutional amendment allowing the state to tax certain property for public education is needed right now.

The status quo — overcrowded classrooms, a shortage of permanent teachers, turnover and burnout — is no longer acceptable.

An experienced educator with a graduate degree and “highly qualified” status knows well what makes teaching here difficult. For him, Hawaii’s worth it.
