Brenda Toineeta Pipestem is a member of the board of directors of Nia Tero, a U.S.-based nonprofit that works with Indigenous peoples who sustain territories and cultures. She is a Cherokee woman rooted in the values of her Eastern Band of Cherokee community and the recognition of the power of Native peoples to problem solve for their communities.
