EVs are growing in popularity, but the Valley Island doesn’t have the infrastructure to rent enough vehicles to visitors. It’s a cost and permitting issue.

With no charges and a lack of power available to create new stations the EV mandate is dead on arrival.Hawaii needs clean beach parks and schools more than electric rental cars

Nightmare to rent an EV in a place you are not familiar with. On an island they make sense if you have PV at home. On the continent I would never consider an EV due to long road trips. The good for the environment myth has been exposed as they pose no benefit to pollution due to the manufacturing of the batteries.

I芒聙聶ve owned EV芒聙聶s since 2010. I like the way the drive. This rush to go all EV for Hawaii is not well thought out or planned and not founded on science to help the climate. If you don芒聙聶t live in a house where you can have your own charger EVs are not practical and not attainable for mid to low income families. It would much better for Hawaii population to put the effort and funds to mental health which Hawaii is sorely lacking.
