The solution to not enforcing laws is not to make more laws that won't be enforced.

There is a simple solution to all this, put a band on ALL fireworks . I'm including all the Commercial Fireworks, The exclamation point needs to happen, if the State wants to get any sign of seriousness across to people who have no respect for the law and others around the State then you start taking away their toys. If people want to be treated like 3 and 4 yr olds then you discipline by taking away things that will make them think twice about ignoring the Laws . These Laws were put in place for a reason, and again this year one of those reasons reared its ugly head again with serious injuries, there was something like 16 injuries relating to illegal fireworks and out of that 16 of the injuries 8 were very serious injuries, 5 were "minor" injuries and 1 reported death, is the risk of injury worth firing off iLLegal fireworks ? think of this way 10-15 minutes of high risk danger worth losing limbs, receiving life changing permanent disfiguration or worse yet, LIFE. This year was one of the worst years in the 35 yrs. that I've lived in Hawaii, I hate every time the illegal fireworks explode, with my PTSD it just brings back really bad memories of when I was in Iraq.

What I thought was crazy was how the police stepped up to threaten anyone for stopping on the freeway. Enforce the illegal fireworks, they're stopping to watch the fireworks! It's easy drive down a residential street, practically all the streets have aerials going off. I remember when the problem wasn't as wide spread it was a coordinated effort with the police helicopter and patrol cars.
