The reason why Biki stank from the start is because our mayor gave them a monopoly on cycling for a fee transportation.聽 On the mainland you have several companies offering the similar services (as with most other consumer goods/services).聽 That competition is what drives the best service to prosper and the others not.聽 Caldwell sponsored Biki with funding and free street usage/parking, while at the same time banning companies like Lime and Mobike from Hawaii like the plague.聽 Even with a complete monopoly and government sponsorship Biki has pretty much failed.聽 That says something about it's business model, cost structure and supposed "non-profit" status.聽 It's time the city, now not burdened with Caldwell's influence, end the favoritism and open up the market to all forms of public ride share options.聽 Let the best company serve the community and in my opinion, that bike share company won't use obsolete docking stations that take up sidewalk space and parking stalls.聽

See how silly this argument sounds?

Too bad it came to an end...But on the other hand really not needed here especially in the city limits...I mean we are over flowing with way too much cars. Stop shipping cars and make everyone hang on to there cars for at least 10 years. Then maybe the bikes would be useful and more people would wanna paddle to work instead of riding fancy cars.
