I suffer from a disorder called Cluster Headaches, which is a far worse condition than Migraines, though the two are often confused as the same thing. Clusters are known as the most painful condition known to humans, and there's no cure, only a variety of treatments to deal with the agonizing, unbelievably excruciating pain we feel, described as a "red hot ice pick continually jabbed into your eye." One breakthrough treatment that was discovered: psilosybin found in magic mushrooms. This compound, ingested in microdoses (no hallucinations), aborts the pain better than any treatment known. I know that the state of Oregon recently legalized mushrooms for medicinal, therapeutic uses, treating depression, PTSD, etc. We must remove any stigma and see these for what they are: useful medicines that improve the quality of life. I applaud senator Chang's efforts in recognizing the benefits of mushrooms, instead of people just laughing off what could be a life-saving thing.

For those that are against using psilocybin as a treatment, I hope you are also against the use of other psychiatric drugs, such as ritalin, adderal, antidepressants, or anything else within that category. To write off mushrooms as recreational drugs for dirty hippies is very shortsighted, more so if you are one of those people who regularly use prescription medications for ailments that can easily be remedied with proper diet, exercise and sleep.

Obviously the bill didn't have enough revenue provisions, I'm sure it would have passed if there were licensing, permit fees, a special fund, a new department with its own offices and staff, zoning requirements, a tax on the mushrooms...
