HAWAII VIRUS TRACKER — Feb. 12: 70 New COVID-19 Cases And 1 Death

Hawaii health officials including 33 on Oahu, 25 on Maui, five on the Big Island and seven residents diagnosed out of state.

One fatality on Oahu took the state COVID-19 death toll to 425.

About 10.8% of Hawaii’s population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, . About 236,649 COVID-19 vaccine doses total have been administered in the islands as of Thursday.

Hawaii remains in which includes seniors 75 and older, first responders and other essential workers. Half the state’s estimated population of people 75 and older have received their first dose, according to data posted by DOH this week.

The third phase of Hawaii’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan is scheduled to launch in March. That phase, 1c, will include people 65 and older along with other essential workers and people with underlying health conditions.

Infection rates have stabilized on Oahu and Maui in recent weeks after cases peaked following the holiday season. Statewide, 1.3% of people tested during the past week . That figure is 2.2% on Maui and 1.5% on Oahu.
