Hawaii health officials on Tuesday, including 83 on Oahu, 21 on Maui, four on the Big Island and six state residents diagnosed out of state.

The state has seen an average of 189 new cases a day in the last week — up from about an average of 100 cases a month ago.

Monday’s case numbers are based on data reported to the Department of Health by labs across the state on Saturday.

The official from the virus remains at 309. Civil Beat calculates at least 315 people have died from the disease, including six deaths on Hawaii island confirmed by local county authorities still pending medical verification by the state.

Across the state, 3.3% of people tested during the past week have been confirmed to have COVID-19. On Oahu, that figure is 4.2%.

Approximately 126 people are hospitalized for COVID-19, with 25 people in intensive care units and 21 using ventilators for breathing support.
