Hawaii health officials reported on Wednesday, including 21 cases on Hawaii island, one on Lanai, four on Maui, 125 on Oahu, and five out of state.
One previous case was removed due to updated laboratory information.
The average number of cases recorded on Oahu each day this past week increased from 59 to 71. Approximately 2.7% of tests on Oahu returned positive this week.

Hawaii county officials announced eight new coronavirus-related deaths Tuesday afternoon, taking the Big Island’s death toll to 48. To date, seven of those deaths have been associated with Hilo Medical Center, four occurred at Kona Community Hospital, 10 at Life Care Center of Hilo, and 27 at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home.
Civil Beat calculates at least 236 people have died from the disease in Hawaii including the latest confirmed deaths on Hawaii island that have not been recorded yet by the Department of Health due to medical verification lags. The statewide official death toll remains at 219 and the state’s COVID-19 death rate is 1.45%.
As of Wednesday, 57 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 were hospitalized, including 11 in intensive care and eight COVID-19 patients on ventilators.
