Hawaii recorded 90 statewide with 58 on Oahu, 16 on Big Island and 16 in Maui County, where there is a growing outbreak on Lanai.
There were three more deaths, all on Oahu, bringing the official death total statewide to 212. Civil Beat calculates at least 224 people have died from the disease in Hawaii, which includes confirmed deaths that have not been recorded yet by the Department of Health.
Lanai has seen dozens of new COVID-19 cases this week, including workers at the Four Seasons Resort at Manele Bay and at least 15 students at Lanai High and Elementary School.
Lanai island, home to fewer than 3,000 people, is part of Maui County. Maui Mayor Mike Victorino said Friday that he was asking the governor to approve placing the island on lockdown effective 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.
Lanai has limited medical resources and patients needing intensive hospital care for coronavirus complications would likely be flown to Maui. Almost 20 of the cases reported on Lanai have not been verified by state officials and added to the state’s tally.

There are currently 75 people , including 18 people in intensive care — 21 patients fewer than were reported Tuesday.
Decreasing levels of infections and hospitalizations on Oahu moved the county to Thursday, which loosened some restrictions on restaurants and gyms.
