Health officials reported 78 statewide on Wednesday and 14 deaths, including four new deaths on Oahu and 10 fatalities on Hawaii island that occurred in the past month but had not been added to the official state count yet.

The COVID-19 cases recorded Wednesday included 65 on Oahu, four on Maui and nine on the Big Island.

Nearly 50,000 people have flown to Hawaii in the first six days of the state’s pre-travel testing program, Lt. Gov. Josh Green said on Instagram Wednesday. A majority of travelers had a negative COVID-19 test that allowed them to bypass quarantine, Green said, but 6,548 travelers fall under the state’s 14-day quarantine for people flying in from out of state.

A $25 million program will accept applications starting Thursday. Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to businesses for COVID-19 related expenses such as e-commerce platforms, worker training and reconfiguring spaces.
