Health officials confirmed 96 new cases of COVID-19 in Hawaii on Saturday, including one case on Kauai — the island’s first case in three weeks.

Twelve cases were also identified on Hawaii island and 81 cases were diagnosed on Oahu. Two residents tested positive out of state.

Hawaii has submitted a nearly 200-page plan to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention outlining how the state will distribute a coronavirus vaccine when one is approved. The health department is refusing to share the document publicly, but the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency says the document will be distributed in the next few weeks.

The state’s official COVID-19 death toll stands at 186 but that does not include nearly due to reporting lags. At least 204 people have died from the disease in Hawaii.

There has been an average of 64 new cases a day diagnosed on Oahu in the last week. Approximately 3.1% of tests conducted last week on Oahu returned positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Roughly a third of all coronavirus cases identified in the state so far have been . with the virus in Hawaii since the start of the pandemic, approximately 7% of everyone diagnosed.

Hospitalizations have been on the . There are currently hospitalized in Hawaii, including 25people in intensive care units. Five COVID-19 patients are on ventilators.
