The state said 18 cases were on the Big Island and one case was on Maui. One resident was diagnosed out of state. The remaining 81 cases were reported on Oahu, where two cases were removed from the record due to “updated information,” according to the .
Of the 10 deaths, seven occurred between Aug. 15 and Sept. 30, according to the Hawaii COVID-19 Joint Information Center. The total included three on the Big Island, two on Oahu and five were on Maui. The most recent deaths included two on Oahu and one on the Big Island, although dates of death were not specified by state officials.
The state’s official COVID-19 death toll stands at 183 but does not include nearly due to reporting lags. Civil Beat calculates 202 people have died because of the disease.
The average number of new cases reported daily this week on Oahu has been on the decline, with an average of 68 cases recorded per day during the last week. Approximately 3.4% of tests conducted last week returned positive for the COVID-19 virus.
Roughly a third of all coronavirus cases identified in the state so far have been among people under 30 years old. with the virus in Hawaii since the start of the pandemic, approximately 7% of everyone diagnosed.
Of the 13,674 people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in Hawaii, 95% have been local residents.
There are currently 135 people with COVID-19 hospitalized in Hawaii, including 26 people in intensive care units. Eighteen COVID-19 patients are on ventilators. Hawaii hospital beds are , including both COVID-19 patients and other patients.
