I don’t know who’s trolling civilbeat. It’s sad. Mazie Hirono is a great American hero.  She is in league with RBG.  With stage 4 pancreatic cancer, she fights relentlessly to save our nation.  She defends decency, democracy, truth, equality for all.   Whoever you are making these comments, I hope you have to flee your homeland, work as an indentured servant, endure hard labor, raise a family in squalor, start a small business you do in the middle of night before your work day starts so maybe your kids can get off plantation.  Then maybe your grandkids will appreciate true American values like liberty and justice for all.  Social Security, taken out of US taxes all these years, is there for you in old age or if you or your children are disabled.  BigAloha

The SCOTUS is designed to be apolitical - to decide cases based on existing law.  We used to see 90 votes or more for candidates.  Now most are cast on political lines.  Why is so hard to accept that a judge who may have opinions on issues can also be capable of decidIng cases based solely on interpretation of the law?  Regardless of who nominated judge Barrett, she is one of the most qualified I have seen in my 73 years.

Mazie is always combative (as this cartoon says) and often rude.  She has really done little for the citizens of Hawaii. I miss Senators Inouye and Akaka......real gentlemen who got some results.
