Why can’t we all just get along?
Feb. 17 — The attitude of Hawaii residents used to be compromise and get along.Â
Feb. 13 — Could we have an article on hooponopono that includes something about recognized practitioners? Perhaps we could try this on disputes that don’t seem to have satisfactory results using the US court system.
Selected comments from “Kauai: Hawaiians Use Shuttle To Drop Knowledge On Tourists,” Feb. 14:
• As a former kamaaina … it made me warm all over when I read this article. Such a commendable effort from these good people. Kauai has always been my favorite island. Over tourism is a definite threat against the State and residents. Controls must be in place to address this problem as well as climate change. Aloha! — HLNPDX
• Tourism hosting done right. It’s a great idea, and I can think of other places where it would work. It probably can’t be scaled up, but it would be hugely helpful if it could. — pagau
• This is wonderful, and I commend those who initiated it. I understand the intent to keep it pure, but I wish there could be just a few minutes spent on ocean safety. There are too many ocean drownings throughout the state and a brief message could save lives. — KailuaOma
• Wonderful idea. People are just sitting on the shuttle and looking out the windows so it’s a great opportunity to impart some knowledge. This is so much better than making people sign a pledge, which I think is very condescending. — kbaybaby
