Chaminade University鈥檚 Board of Regents has selected Lynn M. Babington to serve as the school’s聽10th President.
Babington is provost and vice president of Academic Affairs at Fairfield University in Connecticut.
She will succeed Bro. Bernard Ploeger, Chaminade president since 2009.
Chaminade University鈥檚 Board of Regents Chair Vaughn Vasconcellos pointed to Babington鈥檚 experience in healthcare and nursing, dedication to serving others and “genuine warmth,” according to a press release.
鈥淗er established record and blend of experience in the private sector and academic settings will serve us well,” he said. “I am confident in Dr. Babington鈥檚 ability to lead Chaminade into a future filled with promise and opportunity.”
Said Ploeger, 鈥She brings both a passion for Catholic, Marianist higher education as well as a vision for new ways in which Chaminade may better serve our students and communities.鈥
Babington will serve as interim president of Fairfield University until June 30.
She聽earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree (magna cum laude) from University of Michigan in nursing, and a聽master鈥檚 degree and doctorate in nursing聽from the University of聽Washington.
