With Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s blessings, this week U.S. House of Representative freshman legislators unanimously elected Rep. Colleen Hanabusa their class representative.
Hanabusa, who previously served two terms in the House before returning this year, said she was honored to have been selected toÌý“listen, advocate for and represent” her colleagues’ interests in an expanded House leadership team approved by House Democrats Thursday.
“My special thanks to Leader Pelosi for her vision and support of expanded House leadership as we collectively focus on the many challenges facing our country,” she said in a press release.
Pelosi said,Ìý“The vital efforts of leaders in these positions will be strengthened by the mandate of their colleagues, and I am eager to partner with them to tackle the work before our country and caucus.”
Pelosi beat back a challenger to her leadership to Democrats.
“It is an honor to have been selected by the freshmen class to listen, advocate for and represent their interests…”
