This year’s mayoral race has been so overshadowed by the beleaguered Honolulu rail project we decided to try to get the two candidates to talk about other things.
Charter amendments. Their vision for Honolulu. The Natatorium. A new landfill. Defining moments in their lives. Even what TV shows they binge-watch.
Charles Djou graciously gave us an hour of his time to answer about two dozen short questions posed to him by political reporter Chad Blair.
Kirk Caldwell refused to participate.
So we did our best, pulling Caldwell’s answers from any public statements he’d already made. Obviously we couldn’t answer every question for him as you’ll see in future videos.
This is the first of a number of short videos based on the interview with Djou and material from Caldwell. Watch for more videos every day this week.
