When it comes to being engaged politically, Hawaii is far behind most states.
That’s according to the people, who endlessly analyze data so we don’t have to (and so that we will visit their website).
In the 2016 analysis —  — Hawaii ranks No. 47, meaning near the bottom.
Here’s how we break down (1=most, 25=average)
- 51st – percentage of registered voters in 2012 presidential election
- 32nd –percentage of electorate who voted in 2014 midterm elections
- 50th –percentage of electorate who voted in 2012 presidential election
- 15th – change in percentage of electorate who actually voted in 2012 elections versus 2008 elections
- 44th – total political contributions per adult population
Most politically engaged state?
District of Columbia, which is not a state, but, like, duh.
Wisconsin is second.
Least politically engaged state?
Oklahoma.
