It’s sorta good news: One-bedroom apartments in Honolulu no longer are among the 10 most expensive in the nation.
According to apartment-finder website , such a unit lists for聽$1,750. That’s a 0.6 percent dip.
Two-bedroom unit prices still rose by 2.9 percent to聽$2,500, however.
Still, Zumper notes that it’s the first time since June that the one-bedroom rents for the Big Pineapple actually went down. That’s because rents in Chicago and Seattle “leapfrogged” us.
The most expensive apartments are (to little surprise) in San Francisco, New York City, Boston and Washington, D.C.
In the City By the Bay, for example,聽$3,420 is the going rate for聽a one-bedroom apartment while $4,780 will get you a聽two-bedroom apartment.
Yikes.
Amazingly, Zumper reports that Bay Area rents are actually on the decline, as are prices nationally.
Thinking of moving?
In Toledo, Ohio, a one bedroom lists for $460, while a two-bedroom apartment聽goes for $650 in Wichita, Kansas.
