Our media partner has about the second arrest聽in five months of a veteran officer with the Honolulu Police Department.
Maulia LaBarre was taken in by FBI officials:
“He was charged with five counts of honest services wire fraud on Tuesday.
According to the indictment between January and March of this year he allegedly solicited and agreed to accept sex from an individual by promising to have an arresting officer not appear to testify in a pending case involving prostitution charges against that individual.
“The former University of Hawaii volleyball player is accused of sending wire communications in the form of text messages to execute the criminal offense.
“If convicted on these charges, LaBarre faces a聽 maximum of 20 years in prison on each count.”
