The Hawaii Department of Health has released the application scores for the eight companies who were awarded licenses to grow and sell medical marijuana.
All eight of the selected companies have paid the $75,000 fee required to accept a license. State law allows them to open dispensaries in July.
The agency hasn’t yet posted the scores for all applicants and said in a press release that it will do so only after mailing the scores to each of the parties who submitted the 58 unselected applications.
A selection panel made up of four people evaluated all 66 applications based on 13 criteria.
A spokeswoman for the Health Department said the agency doesn’t plan to release how each applicant scored in each of the 13 criteria. The department also won’t share the score each judge gave each application.
The highest possible score was 520. Out of the license winners, Maui Wellness Group had the highest score at 510. Green Aloha, the only recipient of a license on Kauai, had the lowest score of the winners at 433.
