Do things feel a bit testy out on Hawaii’s roads these days?

A based on posts ranks Hawaii as the worst state — by far — for road rage, way ahead of California and New York.

Honolulu, meanwhile, comes in at No. 22 among cities, better than Los Angeles and New York City but worse than Portland, Oregon, and Scottsdale, Arizona.

The survey, which geotagged the hashtag #RoadRage, “reveals the states whose residents are most prone to becoming enraged while they drive,” according to , which understandably has a vested interest in vehicular crashes.

“Interestingly, drivers in Hawaii by far feel the most hostility behind the wheel,” the authors opine. “One possible cause? Traffic in Honolulu was recently ranked third-worst in the nation. The Aloha State also ranked in the top 10 states popular for tourists — and as many locals can attest, an influx of out-of-state motorists trying to navigate unfamiliar roads can be stressful at best.”

Nationally, August is the worst month for road rage, Friday the worst day and 6 p.m. the worst time.
