Case Against Rail Contractor Dismissed
A former employee argued Ansaldo Honolulu JV made working conditions unsafe for employees.
A federal court has dismissed a lawsuit against Ansaldo Honolulu, a contractor for Honolulu’s $6.6 billion rail project.
John McCaughey, a former employee, filed the complaint last year arguing the Italian-based company was putting its workers in danger by failing to hire enough safety workers.
In a press release Tuesday, Ansaldo announced the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii dismissed the case “with prejudice.”
“Ansaldo is proud of its continuing work efforts to provide a world class transit system for the people of Honolulu,” the company said. “Ansaldo considers the protection of Health, Safety, and Environment a fundamental corporate responsibility and a value underling all of its activities.”
