The occasion聽was a rally for Bernie Sanders, which drew more than 28,000 people — the largest turnout yet for the socialist-turned-Democrat seeking the U.S. presidency.
“There were 28,300 people who came out to Brooklyn yesterday, not for a rock concert, but because they care about the future of this country, and they care about taking action to make things better, to be able to put some of these strong changes forward,” Gabbard, Democrat聽of Hawaii, on Monday.
Gabbard has campaigned across the country for the Vermont senator, who easily prevailed in聽the Hawaii presidential preference poll over frontrunner Hillary Clinton last month.
The New York primary is Tuesday and could prove聽decisive in the election for both parties.
