The says聽longtime local television聽reporter Keoki Kerr has been hired as the union’s聽communications specialist
Kerr will oversee media relations and communications with HSTA鈥檚 13,500 members聽beginning聽April 15,聽according to a press release.
鈥淲e are pleased to welcome Keoki to our team. His reputation as a fair and accurate reporter on issues that impact our community, combined with his personal commitment to building volunteers, mentoring young people and coordinating community events will be valuable to our organization,鈥 said HSTA President Corey Rosenlee.
He added, 鈥淲e look forward to working with Keoki as we continue to advocate for Hawaii鈥檚 public school teachers and the education of our keiki.鈥
Kerr has been an investigative reporter at since 2012, where he focuses聽on government and politics. He previously served as a reporter and fill-in anchor at , a Civil Beat media partner.
He has also served as a co-artistic director and performer in the 鈥 political satire fundraiser, the Gridiron Show.
