The Honolulu Museum of Art launched its annual Celebrate Micronesia Festival in March 2014, and it nearly聽doubled in size and scope a year later, say organizers.

The third annual festival is Saturday, 聽this year “guests can expect an even bigger activity-filled family day showcasing the traditional music, dance, crafts, and fashions of the many island cultures that make up Micronesia.”

The Marshallese Women鈥檚 Club, the聽dance group Lale Dron, the Chuukese Boys & Girls Group and the Palauan Ngelekel Belau Student Organization will be on hand for performances, manning booths and more.

On Sunday, in a related event,聽Celebrate Micronesia Women will be held at the same location from 1:30 to 3:45 p.m.

It includes a keynote speech from Neijon Edwards, consul general of the聽Republic of the聽Marshall Islands.

Co-sponsors are the Honolulu Museum of Art School, the聽Center for Pacific Islands Studies, UHM Children鈥檚 Healthy Living Program, UHM Pohnpei Women Association of Hawaii and the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women.
